{"id":16496,"date":"2023-08-26T15:05:18","date_gmt":"2023-08-26T15:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/egretnews.com\/?p=16496"},"modified":"2023-08-26T15:05:18","modified_gmt":"2023-08-26T15:05:18","slug":"a-tale-of-two-parties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/egretnews.com\/index.php\/2023\/08\/26\/a-tale-of-two-parties\/","title":{"rendered":"A Tale of Two Parties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Among his opening words of Charles Dickens&#8217; classic novel,\u00a0A Tale of Two Cities, he captures the enormous decisions, challenges, and choices that face people, institutions, and nations:<\/em><em>&#8220;It was the best of times, it was the worst of times&#8230; It was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Those choices can lead either to chaos or triumph.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>While much has been said about the recent Republican presidential debate, our nation&#8217;s most important focus would probably be better spent on the policies of the representatives currently running the United States of America. Many of these politicians and officials have created a tale of two profoundly different parties &#8212; in their policies, values and their vision for the country. What once was a party that might leave a voter disagreeing with certain issues, at least one could respect its core principles.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>No more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>What once was the party of FDR, Truman, and Kennedy appears to be in the throes of being torn apart by those whose agenda seeks to make government &#8212; not the voters &#8212; ever more rich, more centralized, and more intrusive in our daily lives. They have increased the national debt, which now tops out at more than\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usgovernmentspending.com\/federal_debt_chart#:~:text=At%20the%20end%20of%20FY%202023%20federal%20debt%20is%20\">$32 trillion<\/a>\u00a0&#8212; more than the 2022 GDP of only\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/databankfiles.worldbank.org\/public\/ddpext_download\/GDP.pdf\">$25 trillion<\/a>. With interest on the debt of more than $1 trillion\u00a0annually, it is capable of crushing America as no foreign nation ever could.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Long gone from the US pantheon of leaders are the great statesmen above. They have been replaced by politicians who have been accused of racist antisemitism (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.camera.org\/article\/camera-op-ed-politico-provides-cover-for-congressional-antisemitism\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/09\/22\/the-squads-anti-semites-carry-the-day-among-house-democrats-yet-again\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontpagemag.com\/ilhan-omar-met-with-al-qaeda-allies-on-trip-funded-by-islamic-terror-states\/\">here<\/a>), of being &#8220;compromised&#8221; by China (\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/opinion\/national-security\/3861298-joe-bidens-china-problem-just-got-a-whole-lot-worse\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/lizpeek.com\/bidens-complicated-relationship-with-china-poses-a-danger-to-us-all\/\">here),<\/a>\u00a0and even of endangering &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/08\/18\/white-house-wont-say-if-biden-familys-china-biz-is-security-issue\/\">national security<\/a>.&#8221; The mental decline of America&#8217;s current leaders (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SODzPvCP4P4\">here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theconservateur.com\/politics\/kamala-harris-quotes-that-prove-we-are-living-in-veep\">here<\/a>) is painfully on view every day to world leaders in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Hundred-Year-Marathon-Strategy-Replace-Superpower\/dp\/1250081343\">Communist China<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.memri.org\/reports\/iranian-supreme-leader-ayatollah-ali-khamenei-death-america-will-happen-new-order-america\">Iran<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/europe\/russia-will-put-its-enemies-such-united-states-their-place-medvedev-says-2022-03-17\/\">Russia<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2023-06-26\/north-korea-holds-rallies-vowing-to-destroy-the-us\/102523380\">North Korea<\/a>, who have made no secret of their wish replace America, which they seem to view as the only obstacle between them and global supremacy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Nor is the current administration even remotely attracting &#8220;the best and brightest&#8221; of a generation that once rallied to JFK. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has presided over a fiscal policy that is being\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/07\/12\/janet-yellen-is-driving-me-crazy\/\">slammed<\/a>. Then there are, according to reports, allegations of &#8220;perceived corruption&#8221; at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2017\/12\/20\/house-republicans-quietly-investigate-doj-fbi-310121\">FBI, the DOJ<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/lawsuit-filed-against-cia-for-key-role-in-hunter-biden-scandal\/ar-AA1fymmE\">CIA<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/whistleblowers-hunter-biden-tax-investigation-new-transcripts\/\">IRS<\/a>\u00a0with a budget of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/2023\/08\/18\/meet_the_new_irs_same_as_the_old_irs_605681.html\">$80 billion in\u00a0new\u00a0funding<\/a>\u00a0to hire\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/2023\/08\/18\/meet_the_new_irs_same_as_the_old_irs_605681.html\">87,000 new agents<\/a>\u00a0&#8212; with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/16\/how-many-of-us-will-be-targeted-by-bidens-gun-wielding-irs\/\">4,600 guns<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/16\/how-many-of-us-will-be-targeted-by-bidens-gun-wielding-irs\/\">five million rounds of ammunition<\/a>\u00a0(!) &#8212; and a Department of Transportation that has allowed the FAA to become so understaffed that there is now an epidemic of near-misses being reported by airline pilots.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The tale of two political parties will have much to answer for as historians far in the future study its legacy. They will be deeply puzzled as to how a once wise and seasoned leadership, that included giants such as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/senators\/FeaturedBios\/Featured_Bio_MoynihanDP.htm\">Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan<\/a>, allowed its party to become hijacked.
