Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas called Jews living in Judea and Samaria a \u2018cancer\u2019 and\u00a0claimed that the terror\u00a0attacks against Israelis are \u201cnon-violent.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas had warned that his speech delivered in Bethlehem on Wednesday evening\u00a0would\u00a0be \u201cdramatic,\u201d and indeed it was.<\/p>\n

According to PA\u00a0media outlets, Abbas\u2019s speech was meant to be \u201c an important declaration and an answer to Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere should be no talk about the possible collapse of the PA<\/a>. There will be no such collapse. Don\u2019t even dream of the PA collapsing,\u201d Abbas stated, seemingly referring to a statement made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\"\"<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n

\u201cWe must prevent the Palestinian Authority from collapsing if possible, but at the same time, we must prepare in case it happens,\u201d \u00a0Netanyahu said at a security meeting on Monday, Ha\u2019aretz<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n

Abbas attacked the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, calling them \u201ca cancer within us, which will disappear one day, the same as it did in Gaza.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, there\u2019s nothing new or dramatic about this speech,\u201d an IDF Intelligence analyst told Tazpit Press Service<\/em> (TPS). \u201cHe gave no new information, proclaimed no new intentions or plans, and just generally recycled his own speeches from the recent past.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, others believe Abbas\u2019s speech was problematic. \u201cCalling Jewish communities a cancer is nothing short of incitement to terrorism<\/a>,\u201d Yigal Dilmoni, deputy head of the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea and Samaria, told TPS.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbbas proves again that he is no partner for peace. Local and international terrorists are spurred by the incitement coming out of the PA leadership; they hang to such remarks, which lead them to attacks against the Western world,\u201d said Dilmoni.<\/p>\n

Abbas also commented on the wave of Palestinian terror<\/a>\u00a0sweeping throughout Israel over the past few months. However, rather than outright condemning\u00a0the deadly stabbings and shootings of Jews by Palestinian terrorists on a near-daily basis, he\u00a0settled for a general statement, saying, \u201cWe are a peaceful nation, and we condemn violence and radicalism.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRiots will continue until the occupation ends,\u201d Abbas stated, claiming that the Palestinian attacks are \u201cnon-violent.\u201d<\/p>\n
