Netanyahu addressed American Jewry in a webcast, explaining why he believes it imperative to rally against the Iran nuclear deal, which he sees as\u00a0an existential threat to Israel and the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is continuing his campaign to persuade the public to reject\u00a0the\u00a0accord signed between the Islamic Republic and six world powers<\/a>\u00a0regarding its nuclear program.\u00a0The latest stage in this battle was a live webcast on Tuesday aimed at Americans Jews, arranged by the Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.<\/p>\n

During the session, which was attended by more than\u00a010,000 people who fielded roughly\u00a02,000 questions on the issue, Netanyahu reiterated Israel\u2019s stance that the\u00a0deal endangers the safety of Israel<\/a>\u00a0and the world, calling it a \u201cbad deal\u201d that enables\u00a0Tehran to develop\u00a0a nuclear bomb.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nuclear deal with Iran doesn\u2019t block Iran\u2019s path to the bomb. It actually paves Iran\u2019s path to the bomb,\u201d Netanyahu declared.\u201d Iran can get to the bomb by keeping the deal or\u00a0Iran could get to the bomb by violating the deal<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netanyahu, one of the fiercest critics of the nuclear accord, also disputed Obama\u2019s claim\u00a0that opponents of the diplomatic deal favor war. He called that claim\u00a0\u201cutterly false,\u201d stating,\u00a0\u201cI oppose this deal because I want to prevent war, and this deal will bring war.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netanyahu outlined \u201cfatal flaws\u201d in the deal in an effort\u00a0to dispel \u201csome of the misinformation\u201d and \u201cdisinformation\u201d<\/a>\u00a0about Israel\u2019s position.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe deal that was supposed to end nuclear proliferation will actually trigger nuclear proliferation,\u201d he insisted. \u201cIt will trigger an arms race, a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, the most volatile part of the planet. That\u2019s a real nightmare.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the deal\u2019s dangers don\u2019t end there,\u201d he warned. \u201cThe deal gives Iran also a massive infusion of cash and Iran will use this cash to\u00a0fund its aggression in the region and its terrorism around the world<\/a>. As a result of this deal, there\u2019ll be more terrorism. There will be more attacks. And more people will die.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even if Iran invests only 10 percent of the money for terrorism, \u201cthat\u2019s 10 percent of nearly half a trillion dollars that Iran is expected to receive over the next 10 to 15 years,\u201d the Israeli leader affirmed. \u201cThat\u2019s a staggering amount of money.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIsraelis are going to be the ones who pay the highest price if there\u2019s war and if Iran gets the bomb,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

In Israel, opposition to the deal is\u00a0not a partisan issue<\/a>, the premier said. \u201cIsaac Herzog, the Leader of the Labor Opposition, the man who ran against me in this year\u2019s election and who works every day in the Knesset to bring down my government, Herzog has said that there is no daylight between us when it comes to the deal with Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t about me. And it\u2019s not about President Obama,\u201d he said, stressing that the issue is not personal. \u201cIt\u2019s about the deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t let the deal\u2019s supporters quash a real debate,\u201d Netanyahu asserted. \u201cThe issue here is too important. Don\u2019t let them take your voice away at this critical moment in history. What we do now will affect our lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren \u2013 in Israel, in America, everywhere. This is a time to stand up and be counted. Oppose this dangerous deal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Obama held a conference call organized by\u00a0liberal,\u00a0non-mainstream American Jewish organizations<\/a>, offering talking points to defend the deal and urging them to garner support through financial donations and advocacy. There was no opportunity for questions.<\/p>\n

Hours after Netanyahu\u2019s address, Obama held a meeting with Jewish leaders at the White House in an attempt to persuade them to adopt the opposite position championed by Netanyahu.<\/p>\n
